Paul:

" "This has a full review of a 1.33GHZ Athlon DDR based system (from Evesham) showing some absolutely storming benchmark results. And this appears to be ahead of any such review by the Internet hardware fraternity. The results posted by PC Pro would suggest more than just a speed grade increase - is this the first look at the Palomino core?"

The thundering palominos are getting louder Paul!!!

Paul:

AMD's surprising (to some in our midst) reversal from a low of $22.19 today to an AH close of $24 is yet another indicator of its resilience, particularly in light of INTC's announced 20 vendor "gun salute" to the 1 gig P3...AMD's is eliciting behaviour of a stock that wants to take a rune at INTC's price in the very near term, don't you think...Certainly hope, for your sake, that INTC can climb above AMD's near term high of $26.50, 'cause today's AMD resilience suggests to me that that is exactly where AMD is headed, toute suite!!!

The Pentium III 1 GHz runs at 700 megahertz in the battery-optimized mode and will cost $722 when bought in lots of 1,000 units

How much? Christ, now I know why AMD wants a piece of this action. I can't believe anyone would pay it.

Neil.
