I have been humbled the same, if not more than everyone else. I continue to save each and every week, and buy the best stocks off my short list that are most attractively valued when I have enough money to make a purchase. I do swing trade in my tax-free accounts, but am mainly buy and hold. I have been reading more than ever, which is a better way to learn than talking/typing. YOU have the gift of gab and insight, where I do better with my mouth shut. Even on SI, a community of investors and traders, I do not feel the urge anymore to announce my day to day or week to week moves. Through this down market I have lost plenty(on paper), so why announce my failures, or worse, possibly have others follow them? So, what are my thoughts? If you(anyone) are young, continue to save and invest in the best companies. Every new buy is another ticket to the game. All my DD, research, saving, and patience will pay off for me, and you, in the long run. What have I bought lately?...Today, my new son, Zachary (this is the first mention of my 3 month old angel on SI), bought his first 4 stocks: GLW CREE SEBL and WIND. My two year old daughter, who has been creamed by this market:-( recently bought WIND and GLW along with NTAP. I can also add, that aside from being stopped out of about 60% of my short term trades, I have not sold a single share of stock in any long term account, and do not plan on it. I use NO margin, and will NEVER capitulate. My stocks will all have to go to zero for someone else to own them. I believe a reasonable number of individual investors share my beliefs, and regardless of what the market does, will not sell. For that reason, a clear and obvious capitulation may not occur. Finally, I am not obsessed with catching the bottom. It is nearly imposssible to do. If I loved GLW at 80, I should be thanking the market gods for allowing me to buy more in the 20's. I had no intention of selling now, so who really cares what the numbers say til I'm ready to sell. Jason PS- I know very little about biotechs. Come to think of it, that's the way I feel about the entire market lately.
