gdr, yes. the economy will take down many companies. motorola just hacked 7k jobs and closed down their cell phone company. i used to work for a very high tech cell phone mfr and i always said it was gone in the first recession. mot beat them to it. i now work for a much smaller company that does not have near the backing. they are not a savvy company, however, they hired me and i developed some significant improvements. they were meaningless b/c the people in charge valued the money status quo. they then hired a new very savvy vp and all my ideas are now fast tracked ;-) not to mention he has some very good ideas himself.

the old guard is still slow, but they are catching on. this is typically what happens when sales people and accountants run mfrg companies.
