According to the article, the pipelay barge FGH is building in China is to be delivered by March 31, if not, late payment penalties may total more than $200,000/day! Reading the article sounds like so many other FGH tales of woe. For the record, the FGH representative in China denies they will be late while other sources all claim there is no way it will be on time. The yard failed to launch the hull properly and spent nine days to get it off the skids. The big problem was an Amclyde crane was to be delivered last October, finally showed up last month. The winches, cable and boom showed up earlier this week. My experience and judged by FGH past history, this should be out in late summer. If FGH does not get it out on time, it will just accelerate the demise of FGH.
