Good point. My point is that if it so much better, why doesn't the market do it without government.

I am probably unfairly pimping you. I am a liberal. When a good solid conservative like you starts talking about the government helping out an industry, I have to wonder why, and fall back on my good ol' classical economics education, that teaches skepticism of any proposal for government intervention. That's all I'm really talking about. I don't mind government help in a market, but you gotta justify it in economics terms for me. I can understand building a railroad, the private industry could never have raised the capital without the government. But, digital distribution? I see a pretty vibrant private market without the GUVMMINT.
