Finally, here is someone that agrees with my assessmant that PALM is experiencing a POST-HOLIDAY jump in ASPs because of their sales of the PALM VIIx (the article didn't mention the PALM Vx sales probably because thats too recent a phenomenom ).

This is a dated article, but the first time I have read it.

news.cnet.com

The negative on the article is that PALM lost 2% points in market shares to its own PALM OS licensees, but I think its more because of the scarcity of PALM Vx during January and february. Anyway, rather we lose market share to a PALM OS licensee than a pocket PC mfr.

regards
TOM

Mang & Thread:

Some indication here of how Qualcomm's BREW application development platform will work in conjunction with, rather than compete with, Palm's OS:

Message 15532158

AirPrime is using BREW to develop CDMA (2G, 2.5G & 3G) modules for Handspring'sSpringboard expansion slot, presumably similar modules will soon be available for Palm's SD expansion slot. Looks to me like Brew will help developers put together wireless apps for PDA's, an enhancement rather than a competitor for the PAlm OS.
