Dear AmyJ: I WOULD!! I am a happy COSTCO shopper. Problem is the only computer I see with the P4 at Costco is the HP. Compaq is still pushing the AMD product. JDN

Re: Who would buy a P4 from a Costco?

People aren't enthusiastic about extremely expensive PCs these days. A 50% increase in price for a 0% to 10% increase in performance on most applications just doesn't sell the way it did in the go go days.

Sams's club seems to do very well selling 1GHZ to 1.2GHZ Athlons from HP. They are incrementally more expensive than slower machines, though. For whatever reason, P4 has been priced to sit instead of priced to sell.

That is very easy to change, of course, but it will decrease forecasted margins.

Regards,

Dan
