GP, That's an interesting view. Back in my lurking days on this thread, I think I began in '97 or '98, in any case I recall reading Carl's posts and "perceiving" his comments as initially quite unbiased. Much less slanted than mine. I would have called him skeptical, but still open minded. But some time in late '98 he had obtained sufficient information to directly challenge much of the Pro DRDRAM comments/hype that longs like to pass between each other. I mean no criticism of longs for this. I do the same thing when I am long a stock. But knowledgeable criticism in the midst of Bull hype is never received with joy. At the time I remember feeling taken aback by the degree of venom his adverse opinions obtained. I have spewed my share of venom mind, but I am not proud of it. In any event I don't recall more than one point he's ever lost in a dispute over memory design. I can recall that he lost it but don't ask me what it was. I only remember it because he lost it to me, ...although I was unaware of the "so called" victory until he informed me I was correct.<vbg> In any case, I don't see his "style" as bias against RMBS at all. I take him at his word that he does what he does because he enjoys proving the incompetence of people who insult his knowledge, judgement and capability. Frankly I don't believe anyone would do what he does because of any concern about RMBS at all. If it were RMBS he was after, he would have created a WEBsite to counter first DRAMVIEW, and now RAMBUSITE. He's clearly got the technical competence to easily match those "outlets" link for link and point for point. No its not RMBS bias that keeps him coming back, or the rest of us entertained and informed by his efforts. He enjoys the interaction. I am undecided as to whether he is even "biased" against Mom & Pops or Thread Morons.<vbg> He gives them quite a bit of his time, and they do the same for him. Yes there are exchanges of venom, but there are also moments of mutual recognition. Its a new experience for me outside of marriage at least. <Major Ho Ha :8> 0\|0
