What scale?? % of total debt?? Past 'real' margin debts? In any case, an Ostrich with it's head in the ground could see that an increase in margin rates was appropriate IMO. The day trading phenom is unparalleled since the bucket shops of the 20's, what other 'anecdotes' are needed? The above assertion is not only incorrect IMO, it's obviously incorrect.

That said, I suppose if one were totally laisez faire you could argue the fed's should just butt-out on this issue.

Agree, that what the fed does matters little, and the rest.
