Pravin: Combine this with the EPA endorsement yesterday, and we may even see government agencies required to buy systems with PowerNow! technology. Intel may end up being forced to license the technology from AMD.

Oh come on, Pravin! It isn't going to take Intel that long to come up with an improved version of SpeedStep that dynamically adjusts voltage and frequency. (as long as they can do it without violating AMD patents, of course).

Pravin, I agree PowerNow! will be a big feature on desktops. RIght now, I'm awfully confused by all the power down options on desktop PC's. I'd like to suspend the hard drive, shut down the CPU and suspend to RAM after 15 minutes, but I have no clue whether to use the BIOS, what to enable in it, etc. And if I'm watching a DVD, I don't want to have to hit the shift key every 15 minutes. My system is triple boot as well (Win2K, 98 and SuSe Linux), so that complicates things more.

Excellent point with the Energy Crisis. Send that to AMD's PR dept.
