Probably nothing - its the thrill of overclocking to see how much performance you can squeak out of it.. and being able to brag to everyone how much Mhz you've managed to squeeze out of it.. plus of course inferring you wont need to buy a 1.4 ghz CPU when it gets released since you're already there

10,000 MS SQLServer2000 table entries per second @ 1450 vs 8,000 MS SQLServer2000 table entries per second @ 1200.
