Greenspan could NOT do 75 basis points or he would have run out of ammunition and later would have been forced to RAISE rates. If you think a little dip like today is bad, can you imagine would will happen when he has to RAISE to stem the next bear market rally? Anyone who was expecting 75 basis points was heavily into wishful thinking, which is frankly a dumb place to be as an investor. The only reason that we didn't see a 25 basis point cut is that Greenspan is a chicken that is running scared. Even 25 points is too much in reality.

The funny thing about 'the Fed looking impotent' Is that THEY are impotent and the market is discounting it. Greenspan probably spends every night reading 'Maestro', cause he refuses to accept his mistakes.
