I received this Power update email from our facility coordinator this morning - he gets them directly from PG&E: From PG&E: Electric System update for Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at 10:30 AM * There is a statewide shortfall of 1,000 to 2,000 MW beginning at 9:17 AM. * The ISO declared a Stage 3 Emergency at 9:17 AM this morning and ordered curtailment of 500 MW of firm load statewide for the hour 9:30 through 10:30 AM. PG&E's share of that curtailment is 196 MW. * Rotating outage blocks curtailed during the first hour plus of curtailment are portions of Block 12. * The ISO expects the Stage 3 rotating curtailments of firm load to possibly continue through 8:00 PM this evening. * We are currently curtailing firm load in the remainder of block 12 and portions of block 13, using both SCADA and manual interruptions. This will continue with block 14 then back to block 1 if further curtailments are necessary. --------------------------------- KT
