I disagree completely. The charts were telling the story all morning. And this was only the confirmation. The downtrend is strong. The rate cut, particularly the cut we got and expected to get, was not going to change things in the short term. As I said, the run up yesterday and earlier today provided the opportunity for gain. Did anyone honestly believe things were going to change starting today? As Rande pointed out several times, any decision by the FED today was to be seen as bad news in one way or another. Why wouldn't have shorting at higher levels been the correct action? Makes sense (and dollars) to me.
