Hey 'thames' ... been a long time, eh, ole boy?

"Dessert" is the U.S. spelling and current usage.

Associated Press style spells it with two esses.

Reuters? Same.

See ya around.

you shouldn't argue here, for you'd be wrong

No more argument from me - I stand corrected!

As far as the future potential of some of the tech leaders and the sector as a whole, I need little convincing as to their long term investment potential especially since I own several of these stocks and plan on adding to my tech holdings. I am not sure how long you have been following, the sometimes rancorous, exchanges on this thread but much of my disagreement has been with the g&k thread's inclination to disregard valuation when establishing positions in stocks that the thread deemed had met the criteria for being a gorilla or king.

Yes, Buffett has been somewhat difficult to understand when it comes to his disinclination to own tech stocks even though he has cited the reasons for his position. But one cannot quarrel with the performance that he has achieved over a long time span. It would not surprise me if he does take a position in technology this go around if valuations come down sufficiently.
