<<What makes Corzine's lack of divestiture any different than O'Neills, outside the fact that one belongs to a party you hate and the other to an administration that you mistakenly think is pro-Gold?>>
1. I don't "hate" Democrats, as a matter of fact, I was a Democrat for many years as was the bulk of Texas
2. The opportunity for Corzine to vote in a pro-Gold manner is fat greater than for O'Neil to directly help Alcoa from the Department of the Treasury! As a matter of fact, the vote asking the Fed for a large move was directly in the best interest of Goldman and directly a conflict of interest. I can find NO record of ANY recent(8+ years from the web site) business done between the Dept. of the Treasury & Alcoa.

When Corzine does not recuse himself from votes in the Senate it is far from "partisan" it is only fair. I can see no reason he hasn't sold everything yet, except he hopes to vote in such a way to enhance his value prior to sale!

The problem with O'Neil is only a problem of possible perception but I agree(and have suggested) he should also divest his holdings.

When Corzine votes in such a way to help the business of Goldman, it is quite another matter, it is called corruption. When you defend those corrupt actions by Corzine you are the one with a problem related to partisan politics.
