Someone airlift some Lithium over to Chihuahua land...

re:

{Several of my favorite TA books cite examples of media coverage near past bottoms. It is as you say: the headlines could scare anyone out of the market at the time they should be buying. Reading certain SI threads and posters can have the same effect. :)

Gottfried }

... but; gottfried - "certain threads & posters" have been saying this since NAZ 4000 & OSX 140 last fall and you've been buying Tech since 3500 ?

PS - it's not about being "scared" - that's an emotional reaction to a logical stimulus; what we want is a "logical" reaction to "emotional" stimulus... think about it - it would have saved you about 2200 NAZ points here if you had...

PS: ... two more weeks like this & JQP will be given the lead role as the wondering "loon" in - "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" part deux... he's lost - completely & totally lost... it's really sad... but; John Clarke has re-emerged out of the Tanqueray Bottle (VBG)~

Let Crude Oil rollover here & the "Thread Wars" are going to end in a more lop-side rout that Dessert Storm... talk about a blow out...

isopatch,
Taking a break here, Bear markets can be so boring when one is mostly in cash (yawn).
VBG

Just a reminder, TESCO earnings tomorrow, should be OK but timing is rather bad. Don't know if I want to jump on the boat large on this earnings, due to market conditions, or wait till May. Depends on the tape, but if it continues to somnambulate, it'll be May.

Mostly cash and some golds at present.

Expect a DCB, DOW bounce off of 9600's?, then a "downtrend continuation", so since I'm not in the mood for shorting and have plenty of work to catch up on at home, will be taking a market break for a few weeks. Need to set up a new broadband system, get caught up on the yardwork yada yada but most of all get some rest after all this bearish brouhaha. It's been grueling making daytrades here of late and although successful with them, I am rather fatigued of it. This is way too much like work!!

Please give me a wake up call when the Bottom is in!

VBG

You should have checked the ENE chart before you posted.

bigcharts.com

That leaves these "irrelevant" stocks as a proxy for ng e&p's.

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation APC
Apache Corporation APA
Burlington Resources Inc. BR
Consolidated Natural Gas Company CNG
EEX Corporation EEX
Enron Oil & Gas Corporation EOG
Noble Affiliates Inc. NBL
Ocean Energy Inc. OEI
Oryx Energy Company ORX
Pogo Producing Company PPP
Questar Corporation STR
Sonat Inc SNT
Union Pacific Resources Group Inc. UPR
Williams Company WMB

Care for a chart of the above minus ENE?

Or would you again like to edit out a few of the underperformers? -g-

You're not going to BS your way out of this, so just quit while you're ahead. Admitting errors is one way to keep a good board.
