Alan,

Being on the appropriately blunt end of jokes about my inability to use high technology, I'm especially sympathetic about your first lesson about copying and pasting. Not long ago one of the truly brilliant people in our thread asked me privately how to get stuff into the forum. You're far from alone.

<<"cut and paste."
Hey, it worked! Now I just need to do it a few hundred times so I'll remember six months from now when I need it again.>>

Here's a short-cut I just learned about and I like.

High-light the message you wish to move. Press ctrl + c.
Move the cursor to where you want the message moved. Press ctrl+v
Voila - it's done.

Until you put another message into ctrl+c or turn off your computer, the first message can be retrieved by pressing ctrl+v.

I find that if I'm a bit slow in getting pressure off of ctrl+v I end up with multi messages, easy to delete.

<<but "copy" does>>

That's called "copy and paste." What else.

As for remembering it 6 months from now, just copy the entire thing, then paste it on a message to yourself, using the mail function on the upper right. In a little while you'll get a message from yourself with the entire thing, then just save it in a folder about computer tricks.
