There is a huge potential there for ORCL, no question.

BTW, it looks like the $1000 computer DID hurt Dell. After all, their computers are running for less than $800 now...and their margins were clipped significantly.

ORCL will take the steps necessary to enter the markets they feel they can benefit most from.
Too many companies focus on margin.....I'm an overall profit kind've guy. I like large margin businesses because they have the most room for growth. By the same token, I like a company that will slash margins to win big chunks of business AS LONG AS they are looking to increase total profit (would you rather sell 1000 computers for $1000 and a 50% profit, or 1,000,000 computers for $500 and a 10% profit?). Of course, price elasticity is a tricky thing. But once you've got the info you need, you can pretty much determine what you need to do, where to do it, and to whom.
