We'll have to wait and see what the color screen looks like, but it ought to be as good as the Handspring Prism, since both have 16 bit, 65,536 color screens at 160x160 resolution, whereas the IIIc was 8 bit, 4096 colors at 160x160. The specs on the iPAQ say that the screen there is 8 bit, 4086 color at 240x320 resolution. Have you compared the Prism screen to the iPAQ? The iPAQ was clearly superior to the IIIc, but I haven't seen the iPAQ vs the Prism.

Hard to say without a side to side comparison in different lighting conditions (e.g. artificial vs sunlight), and the side/backlighting can make a big difference.

P.S. I don't think the 16 bit processor and OS can handle resolution greater than 16x160. Have to wait for 32 bit Strongarm + OS5.0 next year for higher res screens.
