Correct in what you say. The key point is the entire political arena: Congress, pres., and the Fed are incapable of mitigating excesses during prosperity. The Bush tax cut is as close to responsible policy as we can get. Remember the paying down the debt bull? So why did the government spend 8-10% more last year than pay it down? So what I am saying, prosperity weakens the Fed and the three branches. The very nature of politics forces tough declines to set limits for the future, not the reverse.

The only sense of morals that the market has is that trade which produces the most profit ..

The bad news: right now, that trade is short.

You may be willing to donate some or most of your portfolio to stem the tide .. but will the other guy?
