Hi Susan, some interesting thoughts, I was digging around a bit for some population growth numbers, and did
not come up with a real nice broad data series, I had found some stuff from the World Bank but , my post was
blown up by SI and it was too late at night to rewrite it.

I have heard of a bit of thinking along the line's of Johansen's work, and I am not sure what to make of it.

It's funny how back in the mid to late 1980's I heard that the world population had just gotten up to
the 6 billion market and then I have heard the same assertion in the early 1990's and then again in the
past year or two.

It seems like they are having trouble keeping count or declining mature economy birth rates couple with
AIDS etc in the LDC's has been causing global population growth to stall up around the 6 billion market.

Right now your idea is really being tested by this protracted bashing in the NASD etc. lets see that the next
12 to 18 months look like.

take care,

John
