LOL.

Bahnsen refers to "the truth of the Christian faith", then turns around and accuses Russell of of philosophical bias. I wonder what his doctorate is in. Presumably not logic.

I haven't read the essay in question, so I can't argue in support of Russell's beliefs, but I can certainly argue in support of my own.

I do not believe that anyone was ever born of a virgin.
I do not believe in original sin.
I do not believe that anyone ever returned from the dead.
I do not believe that there is a big Papa deity that grants the wishes of those who grovel and toasts those who don't.
I do not believe in heaven, or hell.
I do not believe in Satan, or God.
I see no logical reason to believe in any of the above.

There are a good number of other things that I do not believe, but those are enough to make it clear why I am not, and could never be, a Christian. I just don't believe the story, and if you don't believe the story, you're not a Christian.

ROFL
You are always good for a laugh.
I imagine Dr (of clown science?) Greg Bahnsen is neither a philosopher nor a mathematician. The truth of the Christian faith is an oxymoron. There is only belief there. There is no other there, there- as far as we can know and prove on Earth. Truth:
truth (trth)
n., pl. truths (trthz, trths.)

1.Conformity to fact or actuality.
2.A statement proven to be or accepted as true.
3.Sincerity; integrity.
4.Fidelity to an original or a standard.
5.Reality; actuality.

I suppose Christians may be sincere and they certainly have fidelity to their statements- since they say the same thing over and over again. But what you are selling, Greg, and what you are annoyed at people for not buying, is a faith based on a Bible that says God created a perfect world and then...ooops...evil entered it. That God put a childlike couple, without knowledge of good and evil, into a garden with a yummy tree and then told them it would be wrong to touch the tree! Then because they did eat of the tree he threw them out of his garden. After lots of murder and mayhem and sex we reach God's impregnation of a virgin. This virgin has a child named Jesus- who grows up to wander around performing some strange and rather selective miracles, and who finally is crucified. Then, according to the 200 year old anecdotal story, Jesus rises from the dead and wanders around a bit more- and then leaves for heaven. Further, if you don't believe this outrageous tale you either get to go to Hell, for eternity, or at the very least you don't get to go to heaven.

It is true that there is a sucker born every minute. But the sheer numbers who can swallow this codswallop amaze me. Of course Christianity doesn't have a monopoly on codswallop. Most religions have quite a bit of it. FYI- the 12 major world religions:

I congratulate you on your utter inability to see the logical fallacy, bias, and prejudicial conjectures, of your own position.
