General question for the thread....

Does anyone know if Nichia (or any sapphire based LED manufacturer) supply LED's in 0805 or 0603 style packaging? Supposedly SiC is supposed to provide a smaller LED size....but if sapphire based LED's are available in the two smallest packaging sizes, then the size advantage is negated.

The reason I ask is that if you type Nokia and LED into a search engine, you will find that there are a variety of webpages devoted to installing blue LED's into handsets with green displays. The 82xx series needs the 0603 style (the smaller style)....

My assumption is that sapphire based LED's are available in these packages due to the fact that Japanese handset manufacturers have used them (they have much smaller handsets than we do)...but I havent been able to find evidence of that.
