It is confounding, indeed, but I think stocks are falling due to extreme overvaluation and bursting of the speculative bubble, while the apparently failed move up on the long bond futures is a sign that the "smart" money smells inflation down the road. Ultimately both stocks and bonds are financial assets and presumably, real assets will perform better in an inflationary environment.

The test of top here on the 30 year T bond futures holds the key to the magic kingdom, I think.
