I think you made a mistake there. It's suspected BSE not Foot and Mouth.

Anyway, no sheep in the whole of Europe has been slaughtered for
"Mad Cow Disease" as far as I know. Scrapie is the sheep version of it
and it's been around for hundreds of years.
