JRI,

I really dont follow the fundamentals on the SOX, but am aware of their decline, and if it does continue to decline 500 on the SOX wont hold. But that doesnt mean that it will happen right now/immediately.

Of course if the book-to-bill is really bad, then tha she blows, but I dont predict on how the market will view tomorrow news. I will tell you this, I am not going long again until that news is out of the way, so Im not ignoring it.

What happens if the book-to-bill is flat compared to the previous month. No further deterioration, lousey numbers though. Will the market view that as a strong negative or possibly as a bottom? Heck if I know, so will leave the prediction of the book-to-bill to others.

Re Sox: Interesting discussion between you and Don. I have been completely baffled by the action of the SOX. Terrible news for a long time now, and every other major and sector index collapsing, but SOX still has not made a new closing low since late Nov, and made an intra-day low - by only a small fraction - 3 weeks ago. Thought it would be clobbered this morning, but continues holding and relatively strong so far today. For some time, I thought this kind of divergence was signalling that the SOX would lead the NAZ higher; with the passage of time, that has certainly looked more and more questionable - and while holding, SOX hasn't been able to mount any real advance since the Jan. move to 750. So the book/bill, and the reaction to it, should certainly be interesting this time around!
