well, the analogy is frightening in the sense that the last Roman bear market actually went to 'no bid', otherwise known as 'zero'. and it didn't recover from there in the short, medium, or long term either.

i hear CNBS has just voiced concerns that the Dow may actually...get this...ENTER A BEAR MARKET. strikes me as a somewhat anticlimactic comment on the situation. "the millenium collapse is gathering pace" sounds much better imo.
