Sometimes you have to take a step backward before you move forward. The insanity of the market last Spring was the expectation that there would never be a step backward. I think that in this case, the chasm is the transition from the PC to the next generation of Information technology that is more widely distributed to a number of appliances that each have a specific application. Instead of a centrally located PC with a number of different application softwares, we will have a number of single-application appliances distributed to wherever they are needed, be it our refrigerator, home entertainment center, bathroom, bedroom, etc.
