construction booms...i guess you're on to something here.

This is a slow mover. Construction companies attempt to book ahead of time and always try to keep a deep backlog. When the economy goes into the crapper they can live off the backlog, but only for so long. I know people in this industry and they're talking zero visibility after the summer ends [I couldn't resist using the hit new buzzword "zero visibility"]. In a lot of ways, many industries are currently working off their backlogs. What happens when there's no more backlog?

At the same time, almost every company knows they have too many employees. Most would just assume to lose people via attrition. I've been talking to college friends lately, if you're not in an economically unsensitive field (ie, teacher, etc), you can forget about getting a job if you graduate this spring.
