OT - >> Only some new "killer app" will lead to an earlier recovery. Got any candidates? <<

How about a device that connects to both your computer and your body. It monitors your pulse among other things to determine if you're in a rational state of mind when making a trade. If not it doesn't let you place your trade.

Or better yet we should should adopt the "Fight Club" movie approach. Blow up all the credit card companies and let everyone start back at 0 again. We can just spend our way out. Years and years of capital mismanagement will be solved overnight.

Techs are acting better, but only because the Dow is finally breaking down. That's not exactly a reason to celebrate yet. People talk about forward and backward PE's like they mean something. When a company says they have no visibility it doesn't mean that earnings might miss by 10%. It means earnings could go from positive to negative ala LU, NT, CMTN etc. But hey I'm preaching to the choir, right?

Big Bull. I don't want to send you over the edge on caution but the last low area for amat during the last down cycle was closer to 12, split adjusted. If amat goes to 12 again, I think even you will have already entered the mrkt. Ed
