Captain,

I think GE may again be viewed as a 'buy' in the next 2 (or 3) quarters.

One would think that savvy investors in this market would be willing to buy a stock with a 15/16% growth rate with a P/E of 30/32?

As most companies disappoint in the first (& 2nd) quarter, and GE continues to meet/beat its numbers with that growth rate, it should again be viewed as a blue chip - certainly relative to many others.

Of course it's stock price performance lately is from hunger - even worse than the other large caps.

And (of course) the uncertainty of the Honeywell merger still clouds the picture. However, if they can complete that merger and start selling off the unwanted pieces, etc., an albatross may be removed from GE's neck ( and GE's stock price). That is assuming Jack W. has not bit off more than he can chew with Honeywell.

If, for what ever reason, the Honeywell deal falls through, I would not view it as a bad thing. In the long run only Welch's ego may be the one to suffer.

What say you.?

Wally M.
