Earlie,

I've decided that in a few years I'm going to write a book about the mania and the suckers that took part in it. What's great about SI is that we have a time capsule of everything that has went on since 1996.

What is of particular interest to me is sentiment. Believe me, I will definitely be chronicling how the Clowns were willing to dish out the blame to everyone but themselves. I wonder what it was like in 1929-1931 when things went to hell. At this time of the meltdown, were they blaming Hoover? Were they blaming it on the people that set interest rates too? I've read quite a bit of the history and you don't see much of the blame game in anything I've read. What is so interesting to me is from almost a year ago to the day, we've had one excuse or another that all the Clowns in unison were pinning the blame on. Today it is Greenspan and interest rates. We had the election for a while. We've had Bush talking down the economy. As soon as one excuse wears out its welcome, it's on to the next. At what point in 1929-1934 did the Clowns face the mirror and realize they were suckers for buying into all this new era crap?

This will be required reading for bears of the 2070 Bear market. It will be crib notes on all the noise you'll hear coming out of Clowns as they search for answers and why it should all be ignored.

Earlie, no, but it sure is the interesting kind ... as we've discussed, despite having expected a crash these last few years, not that it's happening it's still kind of hard to believe. And I don't even want to think about the aftermath, should it be as severe as many here expect ... guns and breadlines don't mix. <ng>

Regards,
Terry
