One pointless pastime I have is trying to sneak the subjunctive voice in to writing, whether or not it be the most appropriate usage I think I probably overuse the subjunctive. I certainly manage to use it a lot without making a special effort to do so. I've studied a number of languages and they're all a little bit different in their use of the subjunctive. I gave up trying to remember which rules matched which language and started using all the rules in all the languages whether I needed to or not. So if you like the subjunctive, you'll find plenty in my posts. Karen
