Ted said: Its not the first time nor the last that local people favor development and destruction over preservation because $$$ is involved.

Well.. even that is a fallacy on TGPT's and that website's part. As I just showed with my reply to him, A lot of the natives are opposed to it.. only the coastal natives give it some support.. and even there it isnt a sure thing..

Ted also asked: Who is the webmaster on that site that you linked us to? What is the organization behind the webmaster? Couldn't anything of the authors although I did a search of the site map.

Yea.. curious isnt it.. that they didnt seem to identify themselves.. I have no doubt this is a mouthpiece supported and funded by big oil

Ted,
Would you rather we drill off the coast of California, the gulf coast or in the ANWR. Or perhaps you have a "POPULAR" solution for decreasing world population and consumption?

Jim

Hi Ted,

About most of your questions -- Basically, Scott just got so strident that I decided to look into the ANWR question, so I went to Yahoo and put ANWR into the lookup box & hit the go button.

I don't know the webmaster, I don't know the organization, I don't know *SQUAT* about the site except for what I read.

It could be the equivalent of a 'Skinhead' site. Or it could be real. But from the maps it looks to me (and 'ME' is all I have to discriminate the various 'truth' sources) like the vast majority of the ANWR would be protected.

I remember the hue and cry over the death of the caribou that was sure to happen if the Alaskan pipeline was put in. And I see the 5 X expansion of the herd since then.

And I hear Scott raving about the ANWR - while Canada is ocean drilling just east of the ANWR.

AND I think that Scott has little credibility with me, at least on this subject. But I wait with anticipation for his presentaion of some facts with some decent support.
