I think we're getting close to a bottom. Not close enough to start buying, but close enough to dust off the watch list and start looking at charts. My feeling is that the market will turn before the economic indicators do, based on "smart money" seeing compelling valuations and early signs that the economy is recovering.

I'd like to see NASDAQ volume drop off a bit more, which would be a sign that people are getting disgusted and giving up. And I'd like to see the news magazines ignoring the market as irrelevant rather than talking about how bad it is.
