I didn't know the that NBC had the technology (or, the need) to track every aircraft in the air at any given time. I would've thought the FAA might have such a system, tying all the regional air corridor radar displays together to form a national display, for example. I don't pretend to know all the details of the technology and patent belonging to PRAV but, I think it's patent covers the use of the COMBINATION of cellular base statio/cellular network AND the GPS Data/Info. I would guess if the NBC system you saw on TV uses that combo, they, too, would owe us some $bucks$ [BIGsmile]. Are you aware of the PRAV boards on Raging Bull? Many of the posters there are VERY knowledgeable about the technical details, etc. The RB Boards are usually much more active than the SI Boards (this one, anyway. Perhaps that's partly my fault, though). However, you have to wade through literally hundreds of posts to glean some useful info from one or two posters. Please remember, on any public board, even this one, there are those with an agenda to serve their own ends. Hypsters, Bashers, and everything in between. Believe ONLY what YOU YOURSELF confirm with DD! The link below will take you to a "protected" PRAV board on RB. You have to request membership to the board in order to post there... but you can read the posts without joining. The board owner/moderator, "redmanfury" monitors the posts in order to prevent the madness that usually prevails on RB's main PRAV Board. Give it a try... there are no fees of any kind to read or join, etc.ragingbull.lycos.com PS: If you'd like to join, just click on the link in the board header... "Send Request To Join This Board." PPS: Of course, you have to join RB before you can post, too. Again, no fees of any kind.PPPS: There are NO dumb questions. Please know that! If I can't manage an answer, hopefully someone else here can... or, we can find it elsewhere. Regards, Jim
