I always think that there are two types that go to bonds - the flight to quality types, and then there are the ones who actually plan on holding the stuff. In my mind, the flight to quality ones are the "hot and dumb" money, while the ones who have to clip the coupons are the "smart" ones, but I suppose it is tough to tell which one is which when the trades dance across the tape, but then again, when someone is long there is a short on the other side.
