Master,

I agree with your take on AG. I wonder if anyone knows why there was never an effort to raise margin requirements last year to stem excess speculation. Wouldn't that have been the easiest way to stop what was the making of a bubble.
Instead he chose to raise interest rates to a braking point for the economy. I'm glad I'm not one of the recipients of a pink slip do to his tightening techniques. Those people who have lost their jobs, homes etc. are the ones who should be particularly upset with AG. Those same people may not have had a dime in the stock market but they are the ones who suffer the most. For most of us the pain of lost paper profits is bad but not near as bad as losing their livelihood. There is no doubt that AG targeted the stock market by the method he used to slow the market in turn created a monster that now threatens prosperity worldwide. Unfortunately the power available to him is extremely irrational.
