"Judging by the latest news 3G is catching up in the US now."

elmatador- Keep in mind that there is no real "news." It's more PR fluff and posturing here in the US. The real news will come when they start signing up subs and figures come out on what the subs are willing to pay. If the 3G scene starts looking like unlimited ISP for $20/month, ADSL for $50, or Cable Modem for $40, that may not be a good sign. It probably means that 3G is a LONG ways off in tech investment time as it's hard to balance a business plan to pay for hundreds of billions of capex with incremental smallish revenue streams that canibilizes voice.

Although meanwhile, one can trade the hype. -MikeM(From Florida)

Hi elmat,

Anyone over there planning to retire the pager? (I'm just provoking one of Ray's replies)

I retired mine about four years ago, but I think I'm atypical. <g> Though, come to think of it, it was a PageNet unit, and I seem to recall they went bankrupt last year. Just too much competition from the ubiquitous cell phone.
