Since many of your points I have already responded to, I will respond only to your classical marketing comment.

It may be classical marketing THEORY which you refer to. In reality, media spending does no such thing. It has astounded me in 20 years of media sales, that when the economy is weak...companies stop spending. This flies in the face of traditional theory...as you seem to indicate.
I hate to disappoint you, but this is not my only point of reference. It happens to be a very good point of reference, however, and one that doesn't follow classical theory.

Classical economic theory says that a market bubble and collapse are impossible. Funny how theory and reality so rarely mesh in this world, isn't it?
