TC,

Thanks for the links. Will try the bios method first before the other ones. I recognize all the settings but probably did not have them set up in the correct combination.

Thanks again and I will report back to the thread.

Sue

Update on Power Management for Win NT:

Follow the seven detailed steps on fixup.net and then download either:

fixup.net (intel) OR
fixup.net

This workaround for Power Management on Windows NT (Service Patch 5) REALLY works. Please ensure, though, that ALL steps are followed precisely or else your computer will freeze shortly after booting up.

I cannot commment on stability as I just got it working earlier this morning but I will keep the thread informed.

The 2nd workaround (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/dpms.htm) only works for a specific few video cards and, unfortunately, my card was not on the list.

The 3rd workaround (http://www.zdnet.com/pcmag/pctech/content/17/07/tf1707.016.html) is for Windows NT5 which I think is Windows 2000 since it possesses a power management section in the control panel. Windows 2000 HAS a power management feature which I am trying to emulate under the Windows NT environment.

Thanks again to TC (thecow) for the links.

Sue
