Thanks for the informative post - I obviously didn't dig into the Palm website far enough. Those FAQ's and answers indicate that there may be a learning curve on this m505 screen to get the best performance in different lighting conditions. Not needing the "front light" except in poor natural lighting conditions translates into better battery life.

We'll have to see what comes out of some more industry and user reviews.
