As in so much else, I believe they are way ahead of the game in this. Norquist has explained these areas of politics very well in this one short article. In most of these areas, the administration has the advantage that there is little media interest or Democratic leverage (since they lost the executive branch), and most Americans are unaware of how their attempts to elect leaders have been manipulated. The Dems and a few non-mainstream Republicans like McCain will be spending their political capital complaining about "too much money in politics", while the administration quietly reforms the worst political abuses in our history...
