The step too far is to assert, without further argument, that homosexuals cannot mirror "fundamental human nature". What you mean, of course, is that the sex into which they were born is an important component of their personality, and that they should fulfill its imperatives as surely as they should fulfill the imperative to breath or speak. The problem is that that requires a teleological reading of nature that many will not quite assent to. What if "being homosexual" is the basic component of someone's personality, simply because the inclinations run deep? I am not going to argue either side further, but, having noted the difficulty, will remand your argument for further revision.........
