Something else to keep in mind...yes I know, it's too flagrantly bullish to think like this...but the Lucent-Verizon deal is the first inkling we've had that cap ex spending can't remain depressed forever...these telecom co's need to upgrade and complete the build out and I can't imagine it completely stopping...slowdown, yes, but I'm keeping an eye out for more deals like this to come trickling out.

I think the flight to quality money, which is going into bonds for safety only, is driving bond prices up, and interest rates down, but if they are all wrong, then this will be a top, making a low in rates going forward, once the market stabilizes. Much the same as with the other crises before. So this makes the "flight to quality" money, "dumb" money, I guess.
