Well, the matter has to do with human integrity and upholding that which is integral to human identity. Certainly actual reproduction is part of my overall consideration simply because without heterosexuality humans cannot exist.

But obviously not all hetero humans can reproduce, and yet by virtue of their hetero marriage are due the respect and honor given hetero married couples who can reproduce. They are due this respect because though they cannot reproduce, they are a physical representation of the biological fact extant in all humans-- they are us. Their physical union represents that same human identity, even though it fails to produce humans. We reject their defect, but respect their union because it is a clear reflection of human nature. Such a couple may adopt children (who, like all humans have the one man/one woman nature built in them), and then reflect to their children their own basic natures, even though they are of different genetics.

Not so with the homosexual union. Homosexuality is not us. It lacks integrity with our fundamental one man/one woman nature (Human nature).
