That's not a naive question at all.

A lot of people think it's a combination of a "buy the rumor" thing in front of the semiconductor book-to-bill announcement after the close tonight and an intentional propping up of the Nasdaq by Market Makers.

There are quite of few different logical reasons, in both the bull and bear camps.

We will only know for sure, in hindsight. <g>
