<<I am wondering how many people have loans tied to value of stock which is well below the level of hope of return at present.>>

Isn't that their problem? If we aren't to care about it when farmers, miners, car manufacturers, union auto workers, or any other group can't make it because they weren't smart enough to keep up with or understand the market of today, why should we give a hang about those so stupid as to tie their homes on value of dot com crap stock? If it is OK for those in small town & rural America to suffer, why not those in big city America? NO SUBSIDY - for anyone!

<<Another thought i think few in CA will be able to afford to buy house tax exemption or not you need income to pay the mortgage. >>

What goes around, comes around. No one cared when miners could no longer afford their payments because they lost jobs as blasters, or drillers, or drivers, or ... and went to work in the nearest 7-11. Sorry, but life is hard, no one made them buy more house than they could afford in the bad times. If they can't make it, it is simply their problem. When the $ got so strong that there was near no non-hightech manufacturing in most of our country, everyone said "The market is high & everything is OK because I've got my new Toyota". I hear no concern coming from CA for the state of the economy in South Africa or rural Nevada only the words of the environmental concern that no one should buy that evil yellow metal that mining is evil & give us more electrical power for free & no you can't build that generation plant in our back yard..

Sorry, but I have no time to worry about "those poor Calafornicators", I have worries of my own.
