Gottfried, per briefing.com:14:51 ET World Markets : The MerVal tumbles 7.2% on rumors that Argentina's President is planning to resign. Weakness extends across borders to Brazil, where the Bovespa fell 7%... Now hearing that the Japanese business publication Nihon Keizai Shimbun is planning to report in tomorrow's edition that Tokyo Mutual is close to insolvency. However, fact that the dollar/yen is having little reaction suggests that market is predicting an orderly rehabilitation.

A smaller Japanese bank is said to be going under. It's unimportant as our banks our in great shape. However, reality is not something that has been dealt with lately.
